New reality, new me, better habits

We are aware that it can be hard to adopt and maintain good habits, especially with our new reality. However, January is usually a great time to start fresh! With February being just around the corner, we’re finally starting to get back into a healthy routine. With that being said, it’s more than ok if you are still struggling with implementing healthy habits. We are here to help! 

The Nudge team wanted to share their tricks to help you tackle the new year and our new reality post-Covid(ish).


Take the time to take the time

We truly believe that prioritizing self-care is crucial for a healthy lifestyle. Even though the pandemic forced us to slow down, things are starting to pick up again and it can be challenging to adjust to the “new normal” and to take time to take care of ourselves. Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. The important thing is that it should just make you feel good. 

Here are some of the team's favorite self-care actions that are easy to implement in your day-to-day life:


  • Eating three meals a day, 
  • treating yourself, 
  • getting ready before work (this is a tough one when you work from home), 
  • brushing your teeth even if you are not leaving the house on that day, 
  • doing your skincare routine, 
  • Have drinks with your entourage, 
  • Breaking a sweat.

 

None of those initiatives take a lot of time but they are very rewarding in the long run.


No-more clutter

Raise your hand if the pandemic made you an online-shopping addict. 

We understand. We feel. We can relate!

The downside of that, besides the risk of perhaps hurting your wallet, is that it can cause clutter in your environment. Buying things can be satisfying. We agree. However, it can not only take up a lot of space in your home, but it also has a big impact on the planet.

Don’t get it twisted, we’re not telling you to stop shopping! We’re just suggesting actions that will make your new favorite hobby a little bit more sustainable.

Focusing on selecting quality products that meet your needs instead of buying popular products with trendy claims is a great start. Products that are made of clean or natural ingredients are great as well as they do not harm you or the environment. As we are sure that many of you might shop on Amazon from time to time, the climate pledge friendly tag is a great indicator of a company or a product that is more sustainable in some way. 


Work smarter, stress less

Productivity, or the pressure we put on ourselves to be productive, can be stressful. Luckily, there are ways for you to do less and still feel more accomplished! For instance, automating the purchase of your essentials by subscribing to them at a normal rate for you can save you the time to go to the store and swift through the busy aisles full of people and products! Nudge is offering the subscription option to help you save time and to assure you quality! You can also write down a to-do list and set up your schedule for the week. Once that is done, allow you some wiggle room to move some of your engagements if something comes up or if you just need to take time for yourself. 

Did you know that a clean environment helps you concentrate? Working or living in a neat environment helps you be more productive as there are fewer distractions. Considering that we are more at home, it can be beneficial to do a little bit of cleaning, or at least tidying up, every day. It gives your mind a short break and allows you to focus on the other tasks on your list.

It can seem overwhelming to adopt and maintain better habits, but it can truly be beneficial in the long run. The trick is to take it one thing at a time. It is much easier than it looks. We don’t have all the answers and what works for your friends might not work for you, but we still thought we would try to share with you our tricks to better habits, just like we try to do with our products.
